Digital Literacy

Year 3 - Chromebooks, Cloud Applications and Typing 

As Greenfinch entered KS2, they transitioned into using Chromebooks more regularly. For this half-term, they have been exploring how a Chromebook differs from other types of laptop, and have begun to explore the machines' capacity as a word processor. Using Google Docs, children learnt how to change text colours, highlight words and add images to their work. 

Year 4 - The Internet

Lapwing have been exploring how the World Wide Web works and the wide range of purposes for which it can be used. As well as researching and identifying the functions of specific web pages, they have also looked into the meanings of certain domains. 

They have also considered the ramifications of adding content to the internet and the rules that must be followed. They have used a range of browser-based applications to apply this. 

Information Technology 

Year 2 - Digital Photography 

Swift class have been exploring devices that can take photographs and have been thinking about how best to compose and capture interesting images. 

Year 4 - Audio Editing 

Lapwing have been using the browser-based application Audiomass to record and edit audio on their Chromebooks. They began by exploring what makes a good audio recording.
